Adsense Pages
The way Adsense works is that you first create a website. Preferably a website with excellent content. Once that is done you create an Adsense account. Google will provide you with a unique publisher ID. If you have a number of sites then you will use this same ID for each one. Now you request to have an ad generated by Google for you. You will be able to choose the ads size, color etc. I'll go more into that later. Google will provide you html code to be placed in your website so that the ads will appear where you want them. As long as you have set your webpage up properly the ads will also be targeted to your content.
When you are requesting ads you want to do a little planning so you can make the most use of them. If you wanted you could request a few ad types and then use them over and over again. This simplifies the process of getting ads but will make it so you can't track your site visitors and which ads on which pages are doing the best. Without this information you won't be able to optimize your site and you will end up leaving money on the table.
What you want to do is create ad channels. Use different ad channels for each website. This greatly simplifies the process of knowing which websites are generating clicks and which webpages and ad units in those webpages are responsible for the clicks. With this data you can go about optimizing your websites to get the most possible clicks and money.
Now that you have your website and Adsense account it is time to request the ad units. You will be able to customize the color of the ad. Studies have found that ads that have the same background as your webpage do the best. Also the font of the ad should closely match the font of the webpage. The best ad placement is on the top and left of your page. Also the larger types of ad units do the best. When placing ads make sure not take away from the content. The better the content the higher page rank you will achieve. This will lead to higher quality advertisers on your site and ultimately more money.
